Do I need singing experience to join?

No! Anyone can join the chorus, no matter your level of experience. You don't even have to know how to read music! Our director is a trained vocal teacher and has experience teaching all levels and ages.

When and where are the rehearsals?

Rehearsals are weekly on Thursdays from 6pm-8pm, and we meet at a central location in OKC.

What types of music do we sing?

The OAC centers music and poetry from revolutionary and progressive movements around the globe.

Examples of some of the struggles we have studied include: the Black freedom movement, anti-colonial & anti-imperialist movements, queer liberation and environmental justice movements, and other working-class revolutionary movements, both contemporary and from world history.

What kinds of events will we sing at?

The group will be prepared with a variety of songs for a variety of events. Our goal is to be a large enough group to be flexibly available in solidarity for protest events as well as perform concerts once or twice a year. Our performance calendar will develop as we grow.

How do I join?

Joining the Oklahoma Action Chorus is easy. Fill out the inquiry form, and we will reach out to you over email to give you necessary information.
